LANGDON, Mo. (DTN) -- Harvest, usually marked by falling leaves and shorter days, is leaving a different mark on the countryside this year. For View From the Cab farmer Marcus Hess the predominant features of this year's harvest are high-moisture grain -- and mud.
"We try not to make too big a mess if we can help it," Marcus said, referring to mud on public roads, which is deposited there by farm machinery. "No-till fields seem to hold the machinery up better, but it doesn't look pretty when we get done."
